Sampo Jaakkola is a visual artist from Kuopio specializing in video and photography, though he also makes versatile use of other media forms in his work. Jaakkola works as a director, photographer, videographer, screenwriter, performing artist, and producer.
His work is guided by strong visual storytelling and an experimental approach to different forms of expression. Jaakkola’s productions combine cinematic aesthetics, contemporary artistic experimentation, and documentary storytelling, which are evident in his short films, photographic projects, and multimedia installations. He has worked on numerous artistic projects both independently and in collaboration with professionals from various artistic disciplines.
Currently, Jaakkola is working part-time with an artist grant awarded by the Finnish Cultural Foundation, focusing on three short film projects while also taking on commissioned client work.
